Cause: The
Card Reader is configured to send field data and not track data. The
reader was unable to find the ACCT # and EXP DATE fields in the data that was
read.
Solution: For most credit card applications,
configure the Card Reader to require Track 2. In other applications,
configure the Card Reader to send TRACK DATA instead of FIELD
DATA.
Changing the Require Track 2
option
Steps: With your keyboard connected
to the card reader and using Windows
notepad or some other program you can type in follow these steps:

<Left Ctrl>
<CapsLock> <Right Shift> <Backspace> This will display the prompt "Press F1-F10 for
options"

Now press the F2 key
and press the Down Arrow key until the reader displays "Require Tracks:"

Press the right arrow
until the option displays the proper required track 2.

Now press and hold down
the following keys: <Left Ctrl> <Escape> and release both
keys. This will display the message "Setup Complete Changes
saved".
