By default
all of ID Innovations credit card readers output the
termination string after all the track data has been sent. The
reader contains several options for placement of the termination
string.
Steps: If you have a
PS/2 reader you will need to
connect a PS/2 keyboard to the KBD connector on the cable coming from the card
reader.
We have defined a Quick Keys combination for this
settings. Simply press and hold the following keys: <Left
Control><2><Right Shift><Enter> and release all keys.
The reader will respond with a series of beeps followed by two confirmation
beeps that the option is set.
Swipe your card in windows notepad or some other text
editing program to verify the termination string is being output at the end of
each track as required.
Steps: If you have a
USB MultiMode reader you will
need to download the Universal Programmer Software (www.idinnovations.com) and install it on
your computer.
- Run the Universal Programmer software
- Press F6 to display the Termination String settings
dialog
- Use your Tab key or click you mouse to position the
cursor on the Send Termination String combo box.
- Set the option to After Each Track and Click
Ok
-
If
the software does not prompt you to send the configuration to the reader you
may click on the Send button on the Toolbar or you may choose the Send
Configuration option from the File menu. The reader will beep and you
will see a progress bar run across the window indicating that the
configuration is being sent to the reader.
