QuickBooks Point of Sale and
Credit Card Processing Kit software allow you to process credit cards during
your standard day to day operations.
Both our PS/2 and USB Interface card readers will work with their software
at default. If however your reader has been modified and does not work
properly with QuickBooks Point of Sale and Credit Card Processing Kit software
you may follow these steps to configure them to work.
PS/2 Interface
Steps: With your keyboard connected to the card reader
and using Windows notepad or some other
program you can type in, follow these steps:

<Left Ctrl>
<CapsLock> <Right Shift> <Backspace> This will display the prompt "Press F1-F10 for
options"

Now press the F10 and
the reader will display "Reset All Defaults: Yes"

Press
the <Enter> key to reset unit.
- Now press and hold down the following keys:
<Left Ctrl> <Escape> and release both keys. This will
display the message "Setup Complete Changes saved".
USB Interface
Steps: After downloading and installing the Universal
Programmer software, you will want to run it and follow the steps
below:

When the programmer is
loaded into memory it will load the default configuration and you will be
presented with a screen that shows "Configuration currently at default!".
This is referring to the configuration that is currently loaded in memory on
the computer but not the one in the reader.
- Either click on the Send MSR button or select the
File Menu and choose Send Configuration. The reader will beep and
you will see a progress bar run across the window indicating that the
configuration is being sent to the reader.
Note:
Currently QuickBooks does not use OPOS drivers to
interface with the Credit Card Readers however if in the future they do
implement OPOS setup for card readers please visit the
OPOS section for installation
