Checkpoint Systems Software
If you are using CheckpointSystems
software along with our Magnetic Card Reader you will want to follow the steps
below to configure the reader for both interfaces:
PS/2 Interface
Steps: With your keyboard connected to the card reader
and using Windows notepad or some other
program you can type in, follow these steps:

<Left Ctrl>
<CapsLock> <Right Shift> <Backspace> This will display the prompt "Press F1-F10 for
options"

Now press the F1 key
and user the <Down Arrow> key until you see the prompt "Transmit
Speed: "

Press the <Right Arrow> key until the
Transmit Speed is set to 6.

Press F2 to display "Enable Tracks"
-
Use the <Right Arrow> key until the
option reads "Enable Tracks: 2"

Press <Down
Arrow> key until you see the option "Send Start & End Sentinels:",
about 11 times

Use the <Right Arrow key to turn the option
Off.

Now press and hold down
the following keys: <Left Ctrl> <Escape> and release both
keys. This will display the message "Setup Complete Changes
saved".
USB Interface
Steps: After downloading and installing the Universal
Programmer software, you will want to run it and follow the steps
below:

Press F1 to display
the Interface settings dialog.

Use the Tab key or the
mouse to position the cursor over the Transmit Speed setting and set it
to 6.

Press F2 to display the Magstripe
settings.

Set the "Enable Tracks" option to "Enable
Tracks: 2"
-
Set the "Send Start & End Sentinels" option
to Off.
- Once you get the setting Click on the Ok
button to save in memory.

If the software does not prompt you to send the
configuration to the reader, you may click on the Send button on the Toolbar or
you may choose the Send Configuration option from the File menu. The
reader will beep and you will see a progress bar run across the window
indicating that the configuration is being sent to the
reader.
