Amigo POS

Amigo POS is a Point of Sale package that will allow you to run your business from the Front Office to the Back Office. Perhaps their own words best describe the features of the softtware "Amigo POS™ provides the most intuitive user interface of any popular POS software, while maintaining a high level of performance and scalability."

Both our PS/2 and USB Interface card readers will work with their software. If however your reader has been modified and does not work properly with Amigo POS you may follow these steps to configure them to work.

PS/2 Interface

Steps: With your keyboard connected to the card reader and using Windows notepad or some other program you can type in, and follow these steps:

<Left Ctrl> <CapsLock> <Right Shift> <Backspace> This will display the prompt "Press F1-F10 for options"
Now press the F10 and the reader will display "Reset All Defaults: Yes"
Press the <Enter> key to reset unit.
Press F1 and use the <Down Arrow> key to display the "Send Numerics As:" option.
Use your <Right Arrow> to configure the reader to use "MAIN KEYBOARD KEYS"
Now press and hold down the following keys: <Left Ctrl> <Escape> and release both keys. This will display the message "Setup Complete Changes saved".

USB Interface

Steps: After downloading and installing the Universal Programmer software, you will want to run it and follow the steps below:

When the programmer is loaded into memory it will load the default configuration and you will be presented with a screen that shows "Configuration currently at default!". This is referring to the configuration that is currently loaded in memory on the computer but not the one in the reader.
Press F1 to display the Interface settings dialog.
Move your mouse or use the <Tab> key to move the current input focus to "Send Numerics As" and change the setting to MAIN KEYBOARD KEYS.
Click Ok to save the settings in memory.
Either click on the Send MSR button or select the File Menu and choose Send Configuration. The reader will beep and you will see a progress bar run across the window indicating that the configuration is being sent to the reader.

Note: Currently Amigo POS does not use OPOS drivers to interface with the Credit Card Readers however if in the future they do implement OPOS setup for card readers, please visit the OPOS section for installation notes for OPOS mode.
